Drinking Tea for MND in Killarney by Pat O'Brien

There was a terrific turnout in Mac's Restaurant Main Street, Killarney this morning for Motor Neurone Disease. Leaflets about the Disease were distributed. Denis McMahon and his efficient friendly staff made umpteen cups of tea and coffee for all present...... Thanks to Denis ..... over €800 was raised for the Association.... terrific.... and thanks to everyone for their generosity.
The place was filled with friends of Johnny Reidy who has been diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease recently...... it was a tribute to the esteem in which Johnny is held around Killarney...... Johnny himself attended and enjoyed meeting neighbours, former work colleagues and associates from the world of Amateur Drama and from St Brigids Secondary School where Johnny is Chairman of the Parents Council.
I hope Johnny has voice for Talkabout!!!!.....He's a great practical joker.... the King of April Fool's Day........ he regaled us all morning with tales of practical jokes which he perpetrated on us over the years!!!!
We enjoyed the morning...... It gave us all a lift.
