Sean Gorman from Newcastle Upon Tyne, in England recently launched a web site to help disabled travellers; he himself has multiple sclerosis and is often restricted to a wheelchair.
On a recent vacation to America, he realised that it would be really useful to know about accessibility and features of a location BEFORE travelling.
He has launched the site www.disabledtravelguide.co.uk to allow disabled travellers to review locations worldwide, and reflect on areas such as kerb height, accommodation, general access, disabled parking and attitudes of people towards travellers with disabilities.
At present, he is trying to encourage people to fill out a 'review' on line, so that later in the year, a working site can be produced to allow users to search worldwide destinations and see what other disabled travellers found.
A recent press release that was issued to UK press and can be viewed on his website.
