RTE’s Sports Reporters abseil off the roof for Motor Neurone Disease

RTE’s Sports Reporters abseil Off the Roof for Motor Neurone Disease

Press Release – 30th September 2011

RTE’s sports presenters Jacqui Hurley, Justin Treacy and Clare McNamara will be reporting from the roof of Croke Park as they launch this year’s 100ft Abseil in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA).

The IMNDA is looking for thrill seekers to undertake this exciting and unique challenge alongside RTE’s sporting reporters on Saturday 15th October and abseil 100ft from the roof of Croke Park’s Hogan Stand raising funds and awareness for people with Motor Neurone Disease.

MND is a progressive neurological condition that leaves people unable to do the everyday things that the rest of us take for granted. Walking, talking and swallowing may become virtually impossible. MND strikes people of all ages and there is no cure

The IMNDA provides specialised services for people affected by this debilitating disease such as equipment on loan, financial assistance towards home help, advice and home visits by MND Nurse Specialists.

In order to provide these vital services the IMNDA depends heavily on the generosity of the public and friends of the association who generate over 75% of its income.
