Church Gate / Street Collections and Counter Boxes

If you are interested in taking part in one of these events or would like to take a counter box for your local shop/pub to raise funds, contact the office on Freefone 1800 403 403 or email (1)Collecting_outside_Croke__87613.jpg
The IMNDA are always looking for trustworthy people to co-ordinate and carry out Church Gate Collections in their local areas throughout the year. Just pick a weekend that suits you and your church and contact the IMNDA with a preferred date and we will apply for a permit on your behalf from the Chief Superintendent's Office (Please note, you can't collect without a permit). Once the permit has been granted we will send on a copy along with the required number of buckets and posters (please download and display our Church Gate poster below).

The Church Gates aren't the only place you can collect....:
Top Tips for Street Collections

1. You need a permit from your local Garda Station if you are collecting in a public place e.g. street. Please ensure that you and your collectors are carrying all permits during the collection

2. Get permission from local shopping centres or supermarket to hold collections. As shopping centres are private property, you do not need a permit but permission IS required

3. Please ensure that the public is aware that the collection is for the IMNDA by displaying promotional material belonging to the association

4. Please ensure that all collection boxes are sealed

5. Please ensure that collectors are collecting in pairs for safety reasons and that you can see them where possible and/or are aware of their location

6. Please ensure that the collection box is never too full and that it is emptied regularly

7. Please ensure when counting the funds raised from the event that you do so in the presence of another person to avoid discrepancies

8. Please ensure that collectors are not carrying personal valuables as the Association cannot be responsible for any loss or damage to these items
