Tag Rugby World Cup 2011

In form All Blacks beat USA in final!!

16 teams battled it out on Saturday the 6th August in the IMNDA's first ever Tag Rugby World Cup bringing a taste of New Zealand to Blackrock College RFC. The inclement weather conditions couldn't dampen any spirits as all the teams fully immersed themselves in the World Cup theme. A special mention has to go to Team Japan which was made up of a mixture of ages, kids and all, who had travelled up from Waterford especially and were thrilled with their wooden spoons! The heroes of the day however were the All Blacks who were deserved winners of the Tag Rugby World Cup, we reckon it was the haka that sealed it for them! A great day was had by all involved and the atmosphere was made even better thanks to a live jazz band playing pitch side followed by tunes from DJ's Gav and Ivan as our weary players enjoyed a barbecue in the sun and a few beers. The kicking competition got very competitive and proceedings were wrapped up with the trophy presentations made by Leinster's Ciaran Ruddock.
