Doug Howlett and Munster Stars Launch Charity Tag Rugby World Cup!

Take part in the first ever Tag Rugby World Cup on Saturday 6th August at Blackrock College RFC, Co. Dublin.

Munster Heroes Billy Holland (Ireland), Doug Howlett (New Zealand), Lifeimi Mafi (New Zealand), Wian du Preez (South Africa) and Johne Murphy (Ireland) came together to support the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association’s upcoming Tag Rugby World Cup whilst also highlighting the international theme of the day.

This unique Tag Rugby one day charity blitz is taking place on the 6th of August at Blackrock College RFC, Co. Dublin from 12pm in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA). Rugby World Cup fever is approaching and with the help of Munster rugby’s finest who hail from World Cup nations such as New Zealand, South Africa and of course Ireland, the IMNDA is all set to host the first ever Tag Rugby World Cup.

20 teams will play symbolising the 20 nations competing in September’s World Cup. This is your chance to represent a country for the day whether it’s Georgia, Wales or France and be in with a real chance of lifting a World Cup!

It’s just €200 to submit your team and be part of this fun day of Tag with live music, DJs, a barbecue plus special guests presenting the awards. You don’t have to go all the way to New Zealand to get into the Rugby spirit!

For more information and to enter your Tag team call Gemma or Maeve on 01 873 0422. Visit .

All proceeds raised will go towards helping people with Motor Neurone Disease; an incurable neurological condition that leaves people unable to do everyday things that the rest of us take for granted, walking, talking and swallowing may become virtually impossible.

MND strikes people across all ages and there is currently no known cure. The IMNDA provides specialised services for people affected by this debilitating disease such as equipment on loan, financial assistance towards home help, advice and home visits by MND Nurse Specialists. The association also funds research.

In order to provide these vital services the IMNDA depends heavily on fundraising and donations which generates over 75% of its income.
