The Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) is very excited to announce a group of 5 young cyclists taking on a huge cycle challenge of over 600km!! This challenge is the top to toe cycle from Malin to Mizen and the lads are taking on the scenic tour of the west in Six Days!!

They will set out on their journey from Malin Head on Saturday 12th June and will travel through Carndonagh and on to Letterkenny town.

On Sunday 13th June they are leaving Letterkenny and will travel to Ballybofey, down through Barnmore Gap in the scenic Bluestack Mountains and on into the seaside towns of Ballyshannon and Bundoran. The lads will finish their route for the day and arrive ‘Yeats’ Co Sligo and have an overnight stay in Sligo Town.

On Monday 14th June the lads will take on the infamous N17 stretch from Sligo to Tuam in Co Galway will arrive in Galway City and will stay over night in the entertaining seaside resort of Salthill.

On Tuesday 15th they will travel down from Galway to the Market town of Kilrush in Co Clare

On Wednesday 16th June they will aboard the Tarbert ferry across the Shannon Estuary to Co Kerry and travel down to Listowel and Tralee and on to Killarney.

On Thursday 17th June, they will leave Killarney and travel along to Kenmare and cross over to Glengarrif and on to Bantry in the Red County of Cork.

On Friday 18th Friday they will complete the last course of the challenge from Bantry to Skull and take on the final lap to Mizen Head where they will complete their top to toe challenge.

This enthusiastic five all from Durrown in Co Laois intend on cycling 100 km a day over the six days!! Ciaran Walsh is heading the 6 day Challenge, along with Marc Aylward, Murt Clancy, Enda Carroll and Danny Donohue. Ciaran’s aunt who has Motor Neurone Disease and he is doing this to help raise funds and awareness for the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association as well as Laois Hospice.
