EURORDIS-Rare Diseases Europe, is a unique, non-profit alliance of 1,120 rare disease patient organisations from 77 countries that work together to improve the lives of over 300 million people living with a rare disease globally.
To mark the occasion of the fast-approaching Rare Disease Day 2026 and the next EURORDIS Black Pearl Awards which celebrates individuals, organisations and companies who make a real difference in the rare disease community, they have recently launched this year’s EURORDIS Photo Award, an international photo contest open to all nationalities and rare diseases.
The EURORDIS Photo Award is a melting pot of some of the most breathtaking and outstanding photographs within the rare disease community. It allows contestants to raise awareness by sharing their stories and showing the world what it is like to live with a rare disease. More than ever, this award offers participants the chance to highlight the resilient and inspirational qualities of people living with a rare disease.
Submissions are open until 30th January 2026. Among all entries, a shortlist of photos will be selected by the world-renowned photojournalist Marcus Bleasdale and made open to public voting. The winners will be announced live during the EURORDIS Black Pearl Awards Ceremony on 24th February 2026. The three photos with the most votes will each receive an amazing prize.
