Joanne Begley was supporting her friend Carmel to die well with MND and Carmel wanted to leave something behind for her children to remember her by. Joanne researched the market but couldn't find what she needed so she decided to design it.
For After I’ve Gone are a series of self-help end of life journals for people to leave their loved ones for after they die. They can live on through the love we share, the memories we cherish, and the conversations we have today.
“I have been on a journey with these books, I completed the New Frontiers Programme by Enterprise Ireland, I got chosen for Social Entrepreneurs Ireland Ideas Academy, I completed the HSE Design Thinking Programme and then got picked to pitch to Arnott’s 23 initiative. This book has continued to gain traction as I’ve just been nominated for a Positive Impact Award by The Club Women’s Network. I designed these books as I wanted to make the end of life easier for the person dying and the person left behind. These books are essentially for all the things left unsaid.” Says Joanne.
These books are available online and can be purchased here www.forafterivegone.com
