A huge thanks to DB Cycling Club and Lakeland Dairies for raising a fantastic €3,000 from their recent Charity Sportive.
The roads around Drung came alive on Saturday, 19th July, as 220 cyclists gathered and chose between two routes – 50km and 100km – both departing from The Stray Sod in Drung. The 100km group set off at 9.30am, followed by the 50km riders at 10am, with cyclists enjoying the rolling countryside and warm support from local residents along the way.
The IMNDA were chosen as one of the beneficiaries for this years event to honour the memory of PJ Denning, co-owner of The Stray Sod and long-time supporter of the event. PJ sadly passed away from Motor Neurone Disease. His family continues to honour his legacy by providing the venue and hot food for all cyclists at the finish line.
The incredible funds raised were proudly presented to IMNDA Ambassador, Barney Cully. Thanks to all involved in this wonderful fundraiser and all who supported.
