We are hosting an in person Support Group for people living with MND. This is taking place in Dublin South on Wednesday 9th September from 11am-1pm. This Support Group is for people with MND and is taking place as a result of a survey that was sent out asking how the IMNDA can support you and you responded that a support group would be beneficial.
The Peer Support Group for people living with MND details as follows:

Venue: The Studio, LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin
Time Allocation: 11:00 – 13:00
There will be Tea/ Coffee & Scones on arrival at 11am. This will be followed by two speakers: Sharon Abana & Trish Greene.
Speaker 1: Sharon Abana will discuss the invaluable work of community palliative care which helps patients to live with comfort, dignity and peace of mind, taking a holistic approach to meet the needs of patients and their families. Palliative care involves treating symptoms and providing psychological, social and spiritual support. Most of their work involves caring for people in their own homes through our Community Palliative Care Teams or attendance at out-patient services. There is 36 inpatient beds in Harold’s Cross, 12 in Blackrock Hospice and 15 in Wicklow Hospice.
Speaker 2: Trish Greene is a qualified Reflexologist, Aromatherapist, Reiki Master and is currently training as a Master Herbalist. Having suffered from Eczema her entire life, Trish has a strong interest in healing through complementary therapies, in particular Reflexology. Trish believes in the body's ability to heal itself through reflexology having first-hand experience through her own journey. She enjoys bringing balance, relaxation and harmony to her clients and seeing the health benefits Reflexology can deliver. (Website link: www.thedublinreflexologist.com)
Our IMNDA nurse, Elizabeth Doyle, will also be in attendance and she will be facilitating the support group. This is an great opportunity for you to meet with these Health Care Specialists in this setting.
