Walk While You Can for those who can't

Every day, families facing Motor Neurone Disease know heartbreak in a way that’s hard to put into words. My wife, Eileen, sadly passed away from MND, and this walk is being held in her memory, with the love and support of her family and friends who are helping to organise it.
This autumn, we are asking people to come together to help keep Walk While You Can going, so it can continue to raise vital funds for people living with MND. Your support helps provide nursing care, extra home care hours, and essential equipment that allows people to remain in their homes for as long as possible. It also sends a message of hope to every family affected by this disease.
There are more than 470 people living with MND across Ireland, and the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association is the only organisation in the country supporting these families. It is a cause that now means so much to all of us.
By walking or donating, you will help ensure that MND nurses can continue their work in the communities where they are needed most.
We would be so grateful if you could help us by donating, or by joining us for a 5km walk on October 18th at 2:30pm at St. Patrick’s GAA Club, Cockhill Road, Stamullen, Co Meath.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for supporting this fundraiser in Eileen’s memory.
Hope starts with one step, change happens with many.
Walk While You Can, where you can, with who you can.

Update: The Sunflowers are one of the knitting and crochet groups Eileen helped set up with great care and generosity, and they will be taking part in the walk in her memory. They’ll be selling a lovely range of handcrafted items on the day, with all proceeds going to the IMNDA. Their work is a fitting tribute to Eileen’s spirit, her love of all things hand crafted, and the community she brought together. Please note that items will be cash only.
